What if?
Musing on the 61st Anniv of the Sit-in Movement,
The Trump Insurrection and Imam Jamil

Our last webinar for the Malcolm X Commemoration Committee ('Like' us on FB) was dedicated to political prisoner Imam Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin!...

We spotlighted Malcolm's influence on SNCC...Of course that came to its bold head with the Imam becoming chairman of SNCC in 1967...

February 1st marked the 61st anniversary of the Woolworth Sit-in that sparked both the Sit-in Movement and the emergence of the Black Student Movement pushing to the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement with the emergence of SNCC!...It's 61st anniversary!...

Most people do not know that Imam Jamil, formerly H Rap Brown, may have been its most feared chair.

So feared were they of Imam Jamil, that the federal government penned what became known as the 1968 H Rap Brown Act, a Civil Rights Law that makes it a federal crime to cross state lines with intention to Riot or to incite a Riot...

What if we were in a country that practiced what it preached and charged the legions of racists who stormed the nation's capitol with violating 'The H Rap Brown Act'?

Wouldn't that would be a profound antiracist irony. More ironic and more profound would be the release of the Imam and of all political prisoners!

We salute the four men who launched those bold bursting springs of energy with their audacious deed of dignity in the heart of Klan country!...David Richmond, Franklin McCain, Ezell Blair Jr., and Joseph McNeil. We salute all of the SNCC warriors, alive and in the land of the ancestry, for their unsung legendary sacrifices!

We say Free Imam Jamil!
Free all political prisoners!

And if the gov't goes light on its krazzy *ss racist cousins, then they need to come right and release all of our warriors who they have gone hard on for 50 years!

"You and I haven't seen any American democracy; All we have seen is American hypocrisy..."
